I'm taking a break from the mindless tedium of counting insects in the collection. As pretty as butterflies and moths are, looking at them for three hours straight and counting them with those little punch-tickers (like they have at games to keep track of how many people showed). Lord Almighty, my job is hellaz boring. But I can definitely appreciate not having to think for eight hours straight every day.
What I don't like is dreaming about little beetles with long antennaes (I had to pick out at least two hundred of these little fuckers for a sample), called Cerambycids, or Long Horned Beetles.
As much as I may complain, I have tons of fun here. My bosses (I have about four, maybe more, depending on who's working) are uber-cool and funny. My first day I talked for like thirty minutes about Led Zeppelin with my boss Joe. Joe's like the main reason I come to work every day. He's hilarious, really sweet, and perverted. Although, after looking through the Lepidoptera family for hours on end, anybody/anything would be more interesting. Hell, I could look out the window and be mesmerized by the world outside a collection box.
My trip to Missouri is in a week and two days!! I am totally stoked. Seeing Vonn, Nat, Erin, and Wally is probably going to make my summer. But with the good news comes the bad: Nat, my sister-in-law does have breast cancer and is not pregnant. Depending on how you look at it, her not being pregnant is a good thing since she won't have to go through chemo with a little fetus inside her. And more kind of good news: the cancer is only Stage 1. She caught it really early, which is wonderful.
Dunno what else I have to report. Back to work, I guess. Good tidings!

I am sorry you have to look at bugs all day, clare. I am also sorry that Natalie has cancer, but I am sure she will be okay.
